HUBUNGAN SELF-EFFICACY DENGAN KUALITAS HIDUP PASIEN CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE YANG MENJALANI HEMODIALISA DI RUMAH SAKIT ISLAM PURWOKERTO
Abstract
Background; Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a clinical condition where kidney function declines over a period of 3 months or longer. CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis are at risk of decreased quality of life due to physical and psychological burdens. Self-efficacy plays a crucial role in helping patients cope with this condition. This study aimed to investigate the correlation between self-efficacy and quality of life, based on the WHOQOL-BREF domains, in CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis.
Method; This study utilized a quantitative descriptive design with a cross-sectional method. The total number of respondents was 49, recruited using total sampling technique. Data were collected using the Self-efficacy for Managing Chronic Disease questionnaire and the WHOQOL-BREF instrument. Data analysis employed the Spearman Rho test to examine the correlation between variables.
Result; Based on the results of the Spearman Rho correlation test, the correlation value (correlation coefficient) between self-efficacywith a quality of life of 0.635 with a significance value (p-value) of <0.001. This shows that there is a strong and positive relationship betweenself-efficacywith the quality of life in patients undergoing hemodialysis at RSI Purwoketo
Conclusion; This study concludes that self-efficacy plays an important role in supporting the quality of life of hemodialysis patients. Therefore, interventions aimed at improving self-efficacy should be an integral part of CKD patient care.
